Rebecca Rowlands

Clinical Psychologist

Approach

I aim to develop a professional but also warm and comfortable therapeutic relationship with those that see me for therapy sessions.   I value the trust people place in me when sharing their inner thoughts and difficulties and as a result am  committed to working collabertively to achieve the changes they wish to make. To do this I am able to draw from a selection of  therapeutic methods that have been shown through research to be effective, so are evidence based and best-practice to tailor a treatment plan to meet your personal needs and preferences.   For more information about  the therapuetic methods I draw from please see the Therapy page, the Disability page  or call to speak with Rebecca.

I have over fifteen years experience within  government and non-government sectors working with children and adults. This work was also informed by my experience as a support worker when a student supporting people with ABI, spinal injury, and developmental disabilities.

As a NDIS provider I provide therapeutic and assessment services to participants in supported accommodation with complex needs including dual diagnosis of disability and mental health problems which often include emotional dysregulation and behaviours of concern, significant trauma histories, substance abuse, and involement with the criminal justice system.
